Before StarQuest, I worked for a minecraft server called Erecia. I initially joined the server due to its usage of the ships plugin, and I ultimately worked for them as a plugin dev improving and extending the ships system. The character that I played was a shipwright named Skyko Rijay, and I worked building ships for the human kingdom. Below pictured are a few of the highlights. Usually I’d mock up the design in singleplayer creative, and then build it in survival mode ingame once I liked the design. It required farming lots of trees and wool! My ships ended up being fairly sought-after commodities, so I ended up pretty loaded by the time I got bored. These are some pictures of my better original designs.
A barque rig. For a period of time the server texture pack included wooden frames around the wool. I begged the admin for months to get this changed because it messed with my sails.
A Schooner rig. This one was built late enough that I didn’t mock it up first, I just built it in survival. I was especially proud of the sails on this one.
A rowed galley. Built in creative mode as decoration for the new undead race’s city.
A brig. Early design.
A brigantine designed for the undead city.
The royal galleon of Farrain. This one took forever, and lagged the entire server when it moved.
A ketch rig. In retrospect, the main sails should be billowing out more towards the camera.
