Tesselation #19: "Heat"

This one I think represents a breakthrough of technique. I set out with a particular goal in mind and accomplished it. The color palette is small and works very nicely. There are larger structures across the piece and the eye naturally moves from one region to another following various links. There’s a sort of “sticky” or “gooey” feeling to the center area that I like quite a bit.

This one doesn’t exactly evoke pleasant feelings so I wouldn’t hang it on a wall forever, but I really like it.

This was the first piece I created in my new apartment on Rindge Ave. I took a year off, thinking I had explored all there was to explore here, but I had the idea for this and put the chalkboard back up.
